Enugu commissioner ordered no siren in Enugu state


 Enugu State Police Commissioner Laval Abubakar said he had ordered police  and local commanders to arrest and pursue violators. 

 Abubakar urged state residents  to celebrate the anniversary responsibly while adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols and complying with the law. 

 State Police ASP Daniel Ndukwe said in a statement Saturday, according to Nigerian news agency.

 Abubakar congratulated the city dwellers on  Christmas and New Years and wished them a peaceful and enjoyable holiday. 

 “Others include military, paramilitary, fire brigade and emergency ambulance services. As a result, I have issued orders to local commanders, division police, and tactical/operations commanders to ensure that rule-breakers are arrested and prosecuted. 

 "Enforcement is designed to prevent criminals from carrying out criminal activity in the state this holiday season by using sirens, flashers, and signals as cover-up to avoid the prying eyes of security personnel."
